Ministry Ideaz, an online retailer of handcrafted ministry supplies, recently volunteered and participated as hosts at the International Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Quito, Ecuador. The three-day convention was the largest in Ecuador’s history, and behind the scenes, many brothers and sisters (including the staff at Ministry Ideaz) were instrumental in helping to plan and execute its events.
In total, the peak attendance for all of the convention’s 13 venues was 148,246, which contained more than 3,000 delegates from nearly 30 countries. While the convention was officially hosted by local congregations in Quito, unofficially the communities of Azogues, Galapagos, Ibarra, Lago Agrio, Santo Domingo, Quevedo, and others hosted events either in person or through closed-circuit television.
Amongst all these staggering numbers and statistics, some of them record breaking, perhaps the most staggering is 2,020. As in, the 2,020 new disciples who were baptized in giant pools throughout Ecuador during a coordinated half-hour baptism period.
